And now it is the day after the Stanley Cup final. What a wild ride it has been. This town was so jazzed up -- it was great to see. Good to know that some of us even know our national anthem too. Wish the boys could have pulled it together for one more game, but it's OK. It's really OK. That was fun. Got to see some unbelievable end to end play (come on, Camera Man, keep up! We're trying to watch a game here!) and probably the butt ugliest goal I've ever seen in my life, thanks to Mr. Pisani. (that would be the Game 7 goal. The Game 5 and Game 6 goals by Pisani were both very pretty.) Hey, we'll take them all, thank you very much. The ugly ones count just as much as the pretty ones, or so I've been told. But all in all, it was great. Thanks, boys. We appreciated every second of it.
Just hope that the police state set up on Whyte Ave. will now go away. That is quite enough of that.
And to the writing. Word count since last time I posted -- new words 3500, edited words 4500 -- am moving much too slowly as far as I'm concerned, but editing (house keeping) has never been my favourite part of the process. And, darn it all, we are having a great spring -- some rain, finally, so things are growing at a tremendous pace and I just want to get out in the garden and play. That plus the Cup run has made it hard for me to keep my butt in the chair. Not a good excuse, but the only one I have.
I have given myself to the end of June to finish the rewrite on this thing. I have about 10,000 new words to add, and 25,000 old ones to edit. I'll let you know how that works out.
